This is a special Cape Cod Hiking Trail, Bell’s Neck is one of the most spectacular for scenery. The Platinum Pebble Boutique Inn is lucky to have it, nearly, in our backyard. A short walk North from the Inn brings you to one of the best early morning or early evening hikes to be found on Cape. There is a “golden hour” of light just after the sun comes up and just before it goes down that turns Bell’s Neck into an emerald wonderland. It is so GREEN. The colors light up in Bell’s Neck on a sunny Cape Cod day.
Bell’s Neck Conservation Land holds 259 acres in West Harwich. This is a 2.75 mile Cape Cod hiking trail and offers lots of areas to explore. The Herring River runs through the West Reservoir and joins up with water coming out of the East Reservoir to create an incredible vista looking over the salt marsh. There is a Herring run, or Ladder, that helps fish transfer into the West Reservoir. It looks like a great place to swim, but the flow is strong and caution is a good idea.
As far as this Cape Cod hiking trail goes, it is full of great distractions! We passed kayakers putting in at a foot bridge that put them right in the middle of the fun. This is a playground if you have the right toys. We saw some people crabbing… successfully! Their bucket was filling up quickly. There were also many “secret” spots to pick from and we will be back within the week with some rotten chicken and twine. The Platinum Pebble Boutique Inn is about to start having some Crab Boils, we would love for you to join us!
When you think of an incredible Cape Cod hiking trail, we hope you remember Bell’s Neck. This is one of the best ways to begin or end your day and we love to share it with our guests. We even have a fresh, hot coffee to go and can have breakfast waiting when you get back. We hope to see you soon!
