Cape Cod Bed and Breakfast Bathroom

En-Suite Bathroom

The transformation of The Platinum Pebble Inn into a luxury Cape Cod Bed and Breakfast is moving along in leaps and bounds.  Not even the recent barrages of snow have been able to hold us back. The expansion and re-design of the en-suite bathrooms is almost complete and the new tiling, enormous walk-in showers and custom marble features look stunning (in my ever so humble, unbiased opinion). The upgrade of the cottages into luxury rooms with vaulted ceilings, private patios, fireplaces and luxurious bathrooms is well advanced and is developing into something quite special.

The common area that looks out onto the pool is floored with Travertine, a limestone rock that most famously was used in Italy for St Peter’s Square in Rome and to construct the Colosseum. In the USA it’s found in Yellowstone Park, Texas and Oklahoma and was used in the design and build of the Getty Center in Los Angeles.

The refurbishment of the inn is and has been an extensive project and we had braced ourselves for the expected building contractor nightmares that typically go hand-in-hand with this kind of work. Odd though this may sound, I have to say that our expectations have not been met!

Excellent progress and fascinating trivia details…yet somehow it misses the earlier comments about Liverpool girls footbal club, and the New England Choker patriots….even more surprising is the lack of mention of Manchester as the home of the designer of St Peters square…oh, and league leaders.
PS what did the ceilings do to be so vaulted, and what battalion are the Privates Patio from?

    • Simon says:

I believe the Manchester of whom you speak when their turn arose to choose a team colour opted for an unassuming pastel blue, I can only assume that pink had already been taken. As for St Peter’s Square, you must be referring to that revered Manchester brickie Guiseppe Leonardo Bernard Sidebottom. All good over here and looking forward to the bar project!

  2. Patricia says:

I had no doubt that you would transform it into something special— am so happy that it all went without too many hitches– now to fill those rooms with happy guests! — am sure it will be a great success-

  3. Marc says:

They all thought that you’d lost your marbles when you said you were going to open an Bed and Breakfast in Cape Cod – well clearly you’ve found them again.
Its great to see your project coming together. Annabel; I hope you’re practising your breakfast recipes by making those builders pancakes and muffins every morning!

  4. Mike says:

Just wondering if “Weissbier” is going to be stocked in that custom bar .-)
